Sony is proud to announce that its powerful, compact Cyber-shot W series gain a new range-topping model;the Sony Cybershot W290. The Cyber-shot DSC-W290 boasts a 12-megapixel sensor and 3-inch Clear Photo LCD plus screen, compared to its predecessors' 9 and 10-megapixel sensors and 2.7-inch LCDs. The Cyber-shot DSC-W290 is also capable of shooting 720p video and features an Intelligent Auto mode with more simplified buttons for the ultimate technophile. Sony claims the latest Cyber-shot DSC-W290's Face Detection and Smile Shutter has been enhanced, to make it easy to capture natural, spontaneous portraits and group shots. The Cyber-shot DSC-W290 offers a 28mm wide-angle, 5x optical zoom lens to round out its core features. This latest gadget will be available in silver, black, blue and bronze for about $250.
